Following last Saturday’s cancellation due to Typhoon Dolphin, the 17th Annual Taste of the Marianas International Food Festival & Beer Garden returns this Saturday, May 23, with a full entertainment line-up beginning at 6pm.

The CNMI Saipan Awadori Japanese dance group will kick off the night at 6pm, followed by the visiting traditional Japanese group Nenpou Shinkyo at 6:30pm. The entertainment continues with ballet by Ana Glushko Academy at 7pm, Luis Laforte at 8pm, Polynesian group TekaNahaNui at 8:30pm, and Blue Dream Band at 9:30pm.

In addition, the NMI Bartenders’ Cocktail Competition will begin at 7pm on the back stage.

“We’re all grateful that Typhoon Dolphin passed quickly last week,” said Marianas Visitors Authority Community Projects manager Martin Duenas. “We thank our partners for their cooperation with the cancellation, especially the breakdown of the site, and we are looking forward to continuing the festival this Saturday.”

The event brings some of the best of island cuisine and entertainment to American Memorial Park every Saturday evening beginning at 6pm in May as part of the monthlong celebration of Tourism Month in the Northern Mariana Islands. The MVA, the Hotel Association of the Northern Mariana Islands, and the National Park Service jointly host the annual event. (MVA)
