Due to approaching Typhoon Dolphin, the 17th Annual Taste of the Marianas International Food Festival & Beer Garden will be cancelled this Saturday, May 16. The festival is expected to resume on May 23, 2015.

Typhoon Dolphin is projected to make its closest approach to the Marianas on Friday evening. The Marianas Visitors Authority met with stakeholders on Tuesday and issued a decision yesterday.

“In preparation for the storm, the Division and Parks and Recreation and vendors will have to dismantle the booths and get the site typhoon ready, the stage and dance floor will also have to be dismantled, and the picnic tables and tents will have to be removed,” said MVA Managing Director Perry Tenorio. “As a precaution, and because the setting up will require at least three days, this week’s Taste will be cancelled with the expectation to resume next week. We appreciate the public’s understanding.” (MVA)
