The 19th Annual Taste of the Marianas International Food Festival & Beer Garden will be held every Saturday evening at the Garapan Fishing Base on Saipan in May 2017 in celebration of Tourism Month.

The Marianas Visitors Authority has confirmed 13 food and three beverage vendors for the event, which features international cuisine at affordable prices from local hotels and restaurant vendors, non-stop live entertainment on the main stage, nightly contests on the secondary stage, and arts and crafts sales. The festival will be held from 6pm to 10pm each Saturday (closing at 11pm on the final night).

“Once again, we’re pleased to partner with the Hotel Association of the Northern Mariana Islands to bring the public and our visitors the exquisite Taste of the Marianas,” said MVA managing director Christopher A. Concepcion. “This is one of the MVA’s most popular annual signature events, generating special tour packages for gourmet and media exposure in our source markets.

“We have been negotiating and planning with American Memorial Park for several months now, but are surprised that those plans have been disapproved after all our hard work. We are very disappointed,” said Concepcion. “Nonetheless, it will be another great Taste in May this year at Garapan Fishing Base.”

Participating food vendors will be Fiesta Resort & Spa Saipan, Hyatt Regency Saipan, Kanoa Resort, Mariana Resort & Spa, Herman’s Bakery, D’Elegance Cafe, Furusato Restaurant, Thai House, Tropical Chills, Sierra’s Pearl Shake, Matty’s BBQ, and Tony Roma’s/ Capricciosa.

May Tourism Month will also be marked by the semi-annual Tourism Industry cleanup led by Japan Saipan Travel Association before Japan’s Golden Week holiday. Residents are also encouraged to show their support by observing “Hafa Adai Tirow Spirit” Island Wear Fridays. (MVA)
