Tasi readying to make waves

An original production by Mount Carmel School’s Theatre Club called Tasi would be playing at the Pacific Islands Club tonight and tomorrow, in a showcase of local talents.

Doors will open at 6:30pm each night at the Charley’s Cabaret of the Pacific Islands Club Saipan.

Inspired by Disney’s Moana, Tasi is an original story written by club adviser and school president Galvin Deleon Guerrero. The story follows Tasi as she struggles between family expectations, traditions, and her own aspirations. The production will also feature music from and about the islands.

Organizations that support the musical includes local telecommunications company IT&E and the Department of Community and Cultural Affairs’ Commonwealth Council of Arts and Culture.

Tickets are $10 for general admission seats and $25 for front row seats.

Tickets are available in the MCS business office at their Susupe campus but are limited to only 50 premium seats and 150 general admission seats per night.

Advance ticket purchases are recommended due to the limited seating, the website noted. Those interested in securing their tickets may call the school at 234-6184; visit the school’s business office in Susupe; or visit their mountcarmelsaipan.com.
