TanHoldings Tennis Classic kicks off today

The 9th Annual TanHoldings Tennis Classic will start today with over 60 players entered in the junior singles and doubles events of the annual competition.

The boys U14 singles drew the most participants with 12, including Seung Jin Paik, Richard Steele, Andy Kim, and Daniel Kang, who are seeded No. 1 to 4, respectively. Completing the roster are Hyun Min Cho, Andrew Chung, Isaac Heo, Joey Hong, Danny Lee, Seung Won Lee, Eun Bin Park, and Jun Wang.

In the boys U12 singles, the ranked players are No. 1 Jacob Jackson, No. 2 Anthony Gregoire, No. 3 Jonny Jackson, and No. 4 David Kwon. The four players will battle the division title against Alvin Bang, Jun Hwang, La Hunn Lam, Brandon Lee, Ru Ma Lee, Arkash Rai, and Nason Wessel.

The U10 singles had the least entries in the boys division with only Sam Cope, Eugene Kim, and Andy Lee on the list.

In the boys U18 singles, there are only six entries in Top 2 seeds Robbie Schorr and Ken Song, Allan Lee, Sean Lee, Sam Ryu, and Jimin Woo.

Six girls will also fight for the U18 singles crown with Isabel Heras and Tania Tan getting the 1-2 seeding. Maria Gregoire, Malika Miyawaki and siblings Conatsu and Coume Kang rounded up the competitors list.

In the girls U12, eight will attempt to clinch the division crown, including No. 1 seed J.C. Ferrer and No. 2 Anika Camacho. Others on the list are Helen Kim, Hye Jin Elliot, Serin Chung, Dana Lee, Hoo Wang, and Cathy Woo.

In the co-ed mini tennis, Irin Chung, Cojiro Kaga, Xavier Lee, William Lee, Savita Sikkel, Harry Song, and Lyssa Rae Steele made the competitors list.

Meanwhile, majority of the players entered in the singles play will also see action in the doubles events. Matches in both doubles and singles divisions will be played at the Fiesta Resort & Spa Saipan, Hyatt Regency Saipan, and American Memorial Park tennis courts.
