TanHoldings Football Club and Paire Football Club lived up to high expectations after cruising their way to a finals victory in their respective divisions in the NMIFA Summer Youth League 2021 last Saturday at the NMI Soccer Training Center in Koblerville.

TanHoldings, which topped the preliminary round of the girls U15 division after earning a 5-0 record, completed its domination of the short summer season with a 6-1 rout of Southern United FC in their title match. TanHoldings wrapped the competition with a 7-0-0 win-draw-loss mark, counting its 16-0 demolition of Paire FC in the semis.

In the finals, four different players scored for TanHoldings with Kaithlyn Chavez starting things off for the team with her goal in the seventh minute. Audrey Castro and Rizza Relucio tallied the next two in the ninth and 12th minute, respectively, while Tamia Hix delivered the killer blows for TanHoldings, as she registered three straight goals. Hix’s string of goals was all made in the second half with her first recorded in the 35th minute and the last two in the 45th and 47th.

Joining Hix, Castro, Relucio, and Chavez on the champion team are Matty Angeles, Julie Anne Chavez, Aubrey Castro, Julie Ann Capayas, and Mia Abuan.

Meanwhile, Pia Ngewakl made the lone goal for Southern United, which advanced to the finals after outclassing Kanoa FC-1 in the semis, 11-8. Kanoa-1 settled for the third-place honors following a 6-0 victory over Paire.

In the co-ed U12 finals, the top-seeded Paire was also in full control of its title duel against Shirley’s Football Club after coasting to a 5-0 win.

As expected, Rodney Junior Tomei powered Paire to the victory when he fired a hat trick in the one-game finals. Tomei started the championship game with back-to-back goals after scoring in the 11th and 21st minute, while his third and last came in the 37th minute. Paire’s two other goals were courtesy of siblings Jazzroy Lee and Jayten Lee Villagomez, who found the back of the net in the 27th and 43rd minute, respectively.
Besides the Villagomez brothers and Tomei, Alana Hayes, Rodrick Hernandez, Austin Aldan, Lucas Wu, Caurie Staffler, Joey Mostales, Dyson and Aidi Danis, Nathan Borja, Hanna Li, Justidy Mizutani, Jacob Chipulong, Ethan Manglona, and Anya Lewis also played for Paire.

Paire was unbeaten this season as it swept the preliminary round after recording a 5-0-0 mark. The eventual champion made it six in a row with a 6-1 victory over Matansa FC in the semis before shutting down Shirley’s in the finale to earn a perfect record.
