TanHoldings and Mariana Resort & Spa kept their unbeaten records after downing separate opponents in the JEM Company Ltd./Mobil Customer Appreciation Basketball League last week at the Gillette Multipurpose Gymnasium.

TanHoldings survived Triple J’s first-quarter storm last Friday, 107-96, to improve to a 5-0 record and remain on top of Pool A, while Mariana Resort is ahead in Pool B with its 4-0 card following an 82-62 triumph over D&Q/CTSI last Thursday.

Triple J stunned TanHoldings in the opening period after taking a 30-14 advantage. Aric Oris scored 10 points in Triple J’s early juggernaut, while five of his teammates also scored in the first canto to build a double-digit lead.

TanHoldings fell behind as it fielded its second stringers majority of the opening frame and played without Matt and Ernest Duenas.

Douglas Schmidt did not start for TanHoldings and only came in past midway of the first quarter. He then took matters into his owns hands after seeing his team in trouble and scored 10 points. The former Palau National Team member kept going in the second half and TanHoldings was back in business as it scored 38 point to regain the upper hand, 52-47.

TanHoldings never relinquished the driver’s seat with Schmidt still on fire in the second half and Lerio Pagarao putting the finishing touches on the team’s fifth win after scoring 12 of his 20 points in the final canto. Schmidt led all scorers with his 36 markers.
