TanHoldings Football Club drew first blood in the coed U12 A division of the 2019 NMIFA Fall Youth League after beating MP United, 4-2, last Saturday at the NMI Soccer Training Center in Koblerville.

Andrei Kaitlyn Chavez towed TanHoldings to its season debut victory after scoring a hat trick, while Morico Claridades delivered the other goal for the squad. William Lee registered the pair of goals for MP United.

Chavez registered the first goal of the season in the division, which had its opening games last Sept. 14 rescheduled due to rain, after finding her target in the 26th minute. That was also the lone goal recorded in the first half, while Chavez took a long breather before returning to the pitch past the halfway mark of the second half to make two more goals in a span of five minutes. She tallied her second goal in the 62nd minute and completed the hat trick in the 67th.

In between Chavez’s pair of goals, Claridades connected one with his shot logged in the 65th.

Earlier in the 38th minute, Lee equalized for MP United, but his team eventually fell behind anew, as the losing squad had another drought. Lee then ended MP United’s long silence with his second goal one minute into the extra time.

Meanwhile, Kanoa Football Club got a free 3-0 win over Shirley’s FC, as the latter did not have enough players for the other match in the coed U12A division.

BOYS U18 DIVISION
MP United 4, Matansa 2

In last Friday’s first match, MP United outclassed Matansa for its second victory in as many games.

Four different players scored for MP United, three of them lit up the board in the first half to take control of the match. Floyd Muna converted the first shot in the sixth minute, while John Michael Rojas handed MP United its second goal in the 20th minute. Three minutes later, Oliver Lee scored, while John Bucayo made it four in a row for MP United.

With the game secured, MP United loosened up a bit on defense, allowing Matansa to score. Ronnel Ocanada tallied both goals with his first registered in the 69th minute and the second in the 72nd.

Kanoa 4, TanHoldings 4
Kanoa forced a draw against TanHoldings in the second match in the division.

Andreu Omelau drilled the game-tying goal in the 73rd minute, adding to his two earlier conversions in the third and ninth minute. Sebastian Manabat posted the other goal for Kanoa when he found his target in the 63rd minute.

Despite Kanoa’s two early goals, TanHoldings managed to grab the upper hand at the break behind the two goals apiece from Jonathan Capayas and Kaden Church. Capayas scored in the 13th and 32nd minute, while Church delivered in the 34th and 38th minute to hand TanHoldings a 4-2 halftime edge.

TanHoldings failed to keep the lead in the second half, as Manabat and Omelau saved the day for Kanoa.
