TanHoldings Classic kicks off today
The 12th TanHoldings Tennis Classic starts today at the American Memorial Park tennis courts.
The opening week of the competition will feature the future of CNMI tennis duking it out for age group supremacy.
In the boys 16, David Kwon is the No. 1 seed with No. 2 Cody Shimizu on the opposite side of the 16-player draw. June Yu and Simon Tang are the third and fourth seeds, respectively.
Irin Chung is the top seed in the girls 16 with Hoo Wang coming in as the second seed in the eight-player draw.
No. 1 seed Si Woo Lee banners the 16-player field in the boys 14, followed by Yutaka Kadokura (2), Tarhir Shakir (3), and Jai Li (4).
In the girls 14, the eight-player field is led by No. 1 seed Hannah Chae with No. 2 Anne Lee giving her the biggest challenge.
Eamon Tang is the top seed in the boys 14 with Jinho Cody Park, Michael Min Joon Jeon, and Daniel Kang cracking the Top 4.
The girls 12 are led by Emma Lang and Stella Choi as the first and second seeds, respectively.
The boys 10 will have three players competing for the age group championship—Jackson Koning-Fong, Cooper Koning-Fong, and Seung Woo Lee.
Aside from singles competition, the youth tourney on Week 1 will also feature doubles play in the boys and girls 16 age group.
