TanHoldings 1 triumphed over Hawaiian Rock, 69-53, in the lone game played in the 2018 JP World Corp. Customer Appreciation Basketball League last Tuesday at the Gillette Multipurpose Gymnasium.

After losing a double-digit lead in the third quarter, TanHoldings 1 ran away with the 16-point winning margin, as it drilled four triples in the fourth and held Hawaiian Rock to four field goals.

Elmer Esdrelon hit two treys, while Adonis Macoto and Rex Dimafelix made one apiece to hand TanHoldings 1 the easy win.

Esdrelon finished with 14 points, while Macoto also had double figures with 10. Ron Labadan top-scored for TanHoldings 1 with his 16 markers.

Labadan found his rhythm early, as he delivered 8 points in the first quarter to lift TanHoldings 1 to an 18-11 lead. Macoto, Edrelon, Dindo Pablo, Mark Obnerga, and Joseph Villamena also made baskets for the team in the opening canto, while only Dondi Pulga logged more than one field goal for Hawaiian Rock.

TanHoldings 1 then increased its advantage to 11 at the break, 36-25, behind Esdrelon’s 6 points and the combined 8 markers of Jun Alipio and Pablo.

At the resumption of the match, Hawaiian Rock tried to bridge the gap and had some success, as it moved within 8 , 50-42. John Sinang and James Reyes teamed up in trying to bring Hawaiian Rock back into the game after scoring 6 and 5 points, respectively, in the third canto.

Reyes then hit Hawaiian Rock’s first basket in the fourth period, but that was it for him and his squad, as TanHoldings 1 began converting long shots to regain the double-digit lead.
