TanHoldings Football Club-1 is still undefeated in the 2018 NMIFA Spring Youth League following a close 3-2 victory over Kanoa FC-1 last Saturday at Hopwood Middle School Field.

Anthony Bergancia knocked in a pair of goals, while Mark Joseph Roque chipped in one to hand TanHoldings-1 a 3-0-0 win-draw-loss record and the solo lead in the six-team field. TanHoldings-1’s two earlier wins were against Matansa FC in the opening of the season, 5-4, and versus TanHoldings-2 in Week 2, 15-2.

Bergancia made both his goals in the first half, as he scored in the fourth minute and 24th. Roque’s lone goal also came in the opening 30 minutes of play when he found the back of the net in the 13th minute.

Kanoa-1, which fell to a 1-1-1 mark, got its first goal from Leland Deleon Guerrero in the eighth minute, while the other one was courtesy of Markus Toves three minutes later, giving the squad a shaky 2-1 advantage.

Kanoa-1, which won its opener against Kanoa-2, 4-1, and drew MP United in its second game, 5-5, eventually lost the precarious lead when Roque and Bergancia teamed up in delivering the needed goals for TanHoldings-1.
