Tan Holdings shuts down KFAS

Tan Holdings blanked Korean Football Association on Saipan, 3-0, during their Division 1 game in the 2016 M-League last Sunday at the Oleai Sports Complex Field.
With the victory, Tan Holdings improved to a 2-0-1 win-draw-loss record and took the division lead. Tan Holdings evened out KFAS, Paire, and MP United’s marks, but the former has the most goals (11) to win the tiebreak.
Martin Jambor added two to Tan Holdings’ total, as he put the team on the board in the 30th minute and made it a double eight minutes later. Sean Perez knocked in the other goal for Tan Holdings, as he found the back of the net in the 52nd minute.
MP United 7, Matansa 1
In the other Division 1 match last weekend, MP United eased past Matansa.
Sun Bae Park starred in the lopsided victory after drilling a hat-trick. Jeong Woo Kim, Greg Sablan, Kiyoshi Sekiguchi, and Sunjoon Tenorio chipped in one goal apiece, while Matansa got its lone goal from T.J. Gurung.
Sekiguchi scored first for MP United with his conversion in the third minute, while Park earned his first three minutes later. MP United bagged three more goals in the first half, courtesy of Tenorio’ shot in the 14th and Park’s back-to-back in the 19th and 27th. Kim lit up the board in the 47th minute, while Sablan closed out for MP United in the 67th. Gurung posted Matansa’s only goal in the 42nd.
DIVISION 2
Sun Palace 6, WNT 1
Sun Palace grabbed the division lead from the Thundercats after whipping the CNMI Women’s National Team.
Sang Ho Choi had a hat-trick to lift Sun Palace to a 3-1-0 mark. Cosmos Kim, Jun Sik Kim, and Jihu Jin contributed one goal apiece for Sun Palace, which has earned 10 points from its three victories and one draw for a slight advantage against second-running Shirley’s (3-0-2/9 points).
The WNT fell to 1-0-4 record to remain at the bottom of the team standings in the six-squad field.
Shirley’s 1, Thundercats 0
Shirley’s moved up from third to second place after edging the Thundercats last Saturday.
Kazuaki Togo registered the lone goal in the match, as he found his target in the 32nd minute. Shirley’s has won its last three games after dropping its first two.
The Thundercats absorbed their second loss and dropped to third with their 2-1-2 mark after failing to score against Shirley’s.
World Resort 1, Kanoa 0
World Resort tied the Thundercats’ record after slipping past Kanoa.
Dhiraj Chhetri delivered the winning goal for World Resort in the 62nd minute. Kanoa was handed its second defeat in four games and remained in fifth place in the team standings with its 1-1-2 slate.
