Tan Holdings, MPU blank foes
Tan Holdings Football Club and MP United FC opened their campaigns in the 2015 NMIFA Youth Fall League on a positive note after shutting down their respective foes in the boys U18 division games last Saturday at the Oleai Sports Complex Field.

The 2015 spring champion Tan Holdings was paired against Paire FC in the opener and cruised to a 10-0 victory. Forward Sean Perez starred in the easy win after drilling four goals. Perez’s teammate on the CNMI U19 National Team, Joel Fruit, added three goals, while Junsik Kim and Cosmos Kim contributed two and one, respectively.
Junsik, Cosmos, and Fruit tallied the first three goals for Tan Holdings in the opening half, as they scored in the 12th, 17th, and 21st minute in that order, while Perez started the second with back-to-back goals in a span of three minutes, (58th and 61st minute) using his speed to elude Paire defenders chasing him. Fruit then logged two (65th and 72nd) of Tan Holdings’ next three goals in the second half with Junsik (69th) recording the other one, while Perez closed out for the squad with his brace in the 74th and 75th minute.
In the second game, the defending fall champion MP United topped Matansa FC, 2-0.
MP United lost several key players this season due to graduation, but managed to win its opener, thanks to one goal apiece from Daniel Lim and club stalwart Clayton Izuka.
Lim made it to the board in the 13th minute, while Izuka, who is expected to lead MPU this season with the departure Enrico Del Rosario, Scott Kim, John Taisacan, and Jehn Joyner, registered his goal in the 36th minute.
BOYS U15
MP United 6, Paire 0
MP United was also victorious in the boys U15 division after downing Paire.
Sunjoon Tenorio and Michael Lee posted two goals each for MP United, which drew one apiece from James Kim and Edwin Kim. Lee found the back of the net right in the opening minute of the match and had his second in the eighth minute, while James Kim lit up the board four minutes earlier for MP United’s 3-0 halftime edge.
Edwin Kim made it 4-0 in the 57th minute, while Tenorio put the finishing touches in MP United’s rout of Paire with his pair of goals in the 68th and 73rd.
Tan Holdings-2 17, Shirley’s FC 0
Tan Holdings-2 capitalized on shorthanded Shirley’s FC for a lopsided victory.
Ten different players scored for Tan Holdings-2 with Taka Borja leading the way for the squad after nailing a hat-trick. Four other Tan Holdings-2 players chipped in at least two goals apiece against Shirley’s, which played with only nine players.
Tan Holdings-1 10, Kanoa 0
Tan Holdings completed a sweep in the opening week of the boys U15 age group after its first team whipped Kanoa.
Tan Holdings-1 had the game in the bag right at the end of the first half, leading at 7-0. Jonah Pohl secured the early win for his squad after tallying four goals in the opening half and three of them were in succession.
Pohl added one more in the second half, while Emmanuel Aniana also hit the board in the final 45 minutes of play to complete a hat-trick. Mark Esalan and Rico Roy Reyes contributed one goal apiece.
