Tan Holdings on Monday donated $1,000 to the Bayani Association to benefit not only its upcoming Queen of the World Beauty Pageant but also its various programs.

According to Bayani Association president Mario Mayuga, “this is a fundraising. The proceeds will go partly to MVA for the International Festival of Cultures where the Filipino community will also present.”

Mayuga said the group will also donate to the man’amko. “In our last visit, they said they needed ceiling fans so we will be donating ceiling fans,” he said.

The association will also be donating sports equipment to Dandan Middle School.

“We are very happy that Tan Holdings is able to contribute something to the community, for the welfare of the fundraising for which it was intended,” Tan Holdings corporate consultant Dave Sablan said. “We are always helping the community in any way we can.”

Mayuga said that everything is now ready for their event on Saturday.

“Our judges are excited already,” he said.

One judge will come from Los Angeles, another will come from Guam, while three are from the island.

The Queen of the World Beauty Pageant is part of the association’s 14th anniversary celebration. It will be held at the Royal Taga Hall of the Saipan World Resort.
