Tan Holdings 50th Anniversary Swim Meet this Saturday
The Northern Mariana Islands Swimming Federation will be hosting the Tan Holding 50th Anniversary Swim Meet this Saturday starting at 6am in the waters off the Civic Center Beach.
The open water swim is in celebration of Tan Holdings’ 50th anniversary and will have competition in the 50m for U8, 100m for U10, and 500m, 1,000m, and 1,500m for open swimmers.
In keeping with the 50 theme, NMISF also added a 50+ category for the 1,500m. An award ceremony will be held after the race at the Guma Sakman/500 Sails facility.
Registration closes tomorrow, Feb. 17, and there is no race day registration. Medals will be awarded to the Top 3 in each division and event T-shirts are available in requested sizes until supplies last.
NMISF board member and Saipan Swim Club head coach Richard Sikkel extended his appreciation to Tan Holdings for sponsoring their meet this weekend.
“NMISF appreciates Tan Holdings’ commitment to promoting all sports in the NMI year in and out and especially as part of their 50th anniversary. We look forward to putting on this event and making it memorable with the support of Tan Holdings,” he said, adding that he expects 100 participants for the event.
