Tropical Storm Talim brought rain to the CNMI, even as it moved farther away from the Marianas yesterday.

According to the U.S. National Weather Service in Guam yesterday, Tropical Storm Talim continues to move west-northwest with maximum sustained winds of 45 miles per hour. As of 1pm yesterday, Talim’s center was 395 miles west-northwest of Guam, 405 miles west-northwest of Rota, 410 miles west-northwest of Tinian, and 415 miles west of Saipan.

Talim is forecast to slowly intensify over the next few days, heading toward Taiwan.

The CNMI Homeland Security and Emergency Management cancelled a small craft advisory yesterday after wind gusts decreased below 25 knots.

Acting governor Victor B. Hocog advised the public to continue to be cautious near reef lines as strong rip currents may still occur.
