When the mayor of Tinian came out in the media and raised the issue about public hearings for the legalization of casino gaming on Saipan, the sleeping giant at the northern end of Tinian immediately woke up and drove down to town to meet with the mayor .
That day, as the sleeping giant drove his 1957 Chevy sedan into the parking lot of the mayor’s office, there were many people, followers, and great admirers, waiting to meet the sleeping giant. That day was a momentous day for the mayor, who was waiting by the door. It was another day of another reunion and unification of spirit, cooperation, support, and understanding.
During the meeting between the mayor and the sleeping giant inside the mayor’s office, the sleeping giant informed the mayor that he would never again go to sleep or leave the mayor unattended. The mayor in exchange informed the sleeping giant the he, too, would do likewise. To the surprise of everyone waiting outside the mayor’s office, the meeting between the sleeping giant and the mayor lasted one hour and 30 minutes.
On the way out of the mayor’s office, the sleeping giant saluted the mayor in a military gesture and disappeared in greatness and good health.
In analyzing the meeting between the sleeping giant and the mayor, it means that forgiving your neighbors regardless of differences will ensure from above that you, too, will be forgiven.
