Taga Time Traveler Theory to Tinian Tomorrow

The following sonnet is written in honor of Tinian’s first Gineptin Ha’anen Taga, Chief Taga Festival on Oct. 7, 2018.

A tiny treatise for you on theoretic time travel and Taga
to understand you must accept a certain time travel theory
space travelers may come here like the flying fish gaga
through a space time continuum and they never grow weary.
Time flying fish see above,below,beyond surfaces of time and history
where we are going what we saw and when and where we did go
the future development for Taga time travelers is not a mystery
they can compare the future with what happened a long time ago.
 
One thing for certain just a few or even many years from now
bula guihan, katnen guaka, gollai hagun suni, yan mannge’ chow
the future is alive and well in Taga Park and in Tinian today
with any advancement time will bring some loss and sorrow
Taga’s spirit is alive in the people of Tinian and in their DNA
So tune in to your own progress towards the Tinian of tomorrow.
 
Hope For the Future, a Prayer For Political Peace
 
“Democracy is the worst form of government except for all others that have been tried from time to time.” So said Winston Churchill, quoting an unknown predecessor. This poem is a litany of hope for democracy and the US Supreme Court. A litany is a prayer consisting of a series of invocations and supplications by the leader with alternate responses by the congregation. The response in this secular litany is, “Hope for the future.” Hope is used as both a verb and a noun in the poem.
