T Galleria pounds BECQ in IGBL

T Galleria eased past Bureau of Environmental & Coastal Quality, 65-42, in the second game in the 2016 IT&E Inter-Government/Business Basketball League last Monday night at the Gilbert C. Ada Gymnasium.
T Galleria held BECQ to two field goals and four points in the first quarter to set up the 23-point winning margin.
Ian Iriarte made the four markers for BECQ, while five different players scored for T Galleria in the opening canto to take a 10-4 advantage. T Galleria then stretched the lead in the last three periods with Brendon Talania, Ivan Devero, and Elmer Esdrelon providing the needed offense for the squad. Marino Hiroichi put the finishing touches on T Galleria’s easy victory, drilling three straight triples in the fourth quarter.
Talania led T Galleria with his 14 points, while Devero chipped in 11, and Hiroichi and four of his teammates contributed at least 6 markers each. Only Joe Ito broke into double figures for BECQ with his 13 points.
In the first match, Pacific Islands Club notched its second win in as many games after outclassing CHCC, 75-68.
PIC, which coasted past Customs, 75-55, in its debut game last week, this time pulled off a close win against CHCC, canning crucial free throws to take the 7-point win. Jack Aranda and Mardix Eroch knocked two charities apiece for PIC’s last four markers. Aranda also hit two triples in the fourth quarter to keep PIC’s safe distance. The former Saipan Southern High School standout ended up top-scoring for PIC with his 16 points.
James Abuy added 15 with all his baskets coming from beyond the arc, while Darwin Barbo also finished in twin digits with his 12. Eroch, Mike Espinosa, and Sean Rabasto combined for 21 for PIC’s balance offense.
Zachariah Johnson paced CHCC with his 18 markers, while Galarse tallied 10, but was scoreless in the second half.
