SYP hosts ‘Hiring 101’ training
The Saipan Young Professionals is hosting a “Hiring 101” training seminar today, June 20. This training will help support:
• Self-employed entrepreneurs wanting to learn more about the next big step – hiring staff,
• Small business owners and managers hoping to improve their hiring techniques,
• Young professionals aspiring to be business owners, and
• Individuals interested in human resources wanting to grow in their profession.
The guest speakers for this seminar are SYP member Derek Cutting, who is the owner and founder of Latter Built 24 Hour Gyms in Kagman III and Oleai, and Polly Deleon Guerrero Masga, who is the owner and lead consultant of Access 670 Consulting.
In this seminar, participants will learn: step-by-step process of hiring employees in the CNMI, strategies to creating an “A-Team” for your business, and the importance of hiring employees for business expansion.
Cutting personally invites the community to attend: “If you dream of turning your passion into a paycheck like I did, you need to build a team of likeminded individuals who support and represent your passion. ‘Self-employment’ is a start, but you are still a slave to your own creation and will most likely get burnt out and have a high probability of never getting to the next level without a team. ‘Business ownership,’ however, is that next level… Build a team, lead the team, and most importantly empower the team to achieve all the many needed day to day tasks of transforming your dream into a reality.”
The training seminar will be held today, June 20, from 6pm-8pm at the Saipan Chamber of Commerce office located on the 3rd floor of the Marianas Business Plaza, Suite #315. The training is free to registered Saipan Young Professionals and is $35/non-SYP members. Advance registration is encouraged as limited seating is available. Participants will enjoy light refreshments and a chance to network with other business professionals in the community. To register or for more information, please contact Mercilynn Kaneshi Palec at (670) 234-7150 or email administrator@saipanchamber.com. (PR)
