Saipan Chamber of Commerce’s Saipan Young Professionals will hold the inaugural “We Run The Night” fun run.

This year, a portion of the proceeds will be donated to the Kagman High School “Million Dollar Scholars” program. This program benefits top students who have already been awarded full college scholarships in their efforts to get to off-island schools. Each participant in the fun run will select a local high school to represent. SYP will be awarding the school with most participants a grand prize.

The run will be held on Friday, Earth Day, April 22, 2016. Registrations will begin at the Minatchom Atdao Pavillion at 6:30pm and the run will commence shortly at 7pm. The turning point will be at the Quartermaster Road; and the finish line will be back at the Minatchom Atdao pavilion. The first registrants will receive one free LED armband. The armbands are battery operated and can be reused. In honor of Earth Day, participants and supporters are encouraged to observe “Earth Hour” and to turn off electricity from 8:30pm to 9:30pm. SYP would like to thank Micronesia Islands Nature Alliance, which has loaned them recycling bins for the event to promote recycling and environmental awareness.

The Department of Public Safety will be present to ensure safety during the run and volunteer nurses and staff from Marianas Health Services will be on hand to assist at the water stations with first aide care. Participants are encouraged to wear white or any brightly colored clothing.

Special thank you to water station and prize sponsors: Dickerson & Quinn, Pacifica Insurance Underwriters, Saipan Ice & Water, and First Hawaiian Bank.

Registration forms are available at the Saipan Chamber of Commerce office, Marianas Business Plaza, 3rd floor, Suite #315. Feel free to call (670) 234-7150 or email administrator@saipanchamber.com.
