Police arrested Tuesday a suspected dealer of crystal methamphetamine or “ice” and a store owner accused of sexually assaulting a 13-year-old girl in separate incidents on Saipan.

Jun Fang, 36, and Jin Song Lin, 47, were taken to the Superior Court yesterday afternoon for their bail hearing.

Fang, also known as Jun, was arrested for trafficking of a controlled substance and illegal possession of a controlled substance.

Lin was arrested for sexual assault in the second degree, assault and battery, and disturbing the peace.

Associate Judge Joseph N. Camacho imposed a $60,000 cash bail for Lin and $30,000 cash bail for Fang.

Camacho set the preliminary hearing in both cases on July 19 at 9am.

Police detective Dennis Reyes stated in his report that Fang is the suspected supplier of Changfeng Zhang whom they arrested on Friday for selling “ice.”

Reyes said that during monitored buy-walk operations, Zhang entered a car where he got his “ice” supply.

Reyes said the surveillance team followed the car and saw Jun, whom they later identified as Fang, get down from the vehicle.

In the sexual assault case, police officer Rudolfo Hermosilla stated in his report that police officers responded to a store in Chalan Kanoa Tuesday afternoon after receiving a call about a sexual assault incident.

Hermosilla said preliminary investigation showed that a girl entered the store to buy cookies. Lin allegedly offered the girl a soda then hugged her and touched her breast.

Police said the surveillance camera in the store caught the incident.

Lin was then arrested.
