Yuan Rong Zhao, a 41-year-old man arrested in January by Drug Enforcement Administration agents for allegedly distributing $400 worth of methamphetamine or “ice” on Saipan, has pleaded guilty in federal court.
Zhao, who appeared with court-appointed counsel Michael Dotts at a hearing on Friday, pleaded guilty to an indictment charging him with one count of distribution of methamphetamine.

He will be sentenced on June 13, 2014.

According to the plea agreement, Zhao provided 0.60 grams of “ice” to an individual on March 6, 2012 in exchange for between $200 and $400.

A DEA special agent stated in an affidavit that the buyer was their confidential source and that the deal happened outside Zhao’s residence in San Antonio.

DEA agents arrested Zhao on Jan. 3.
