Congratulations to Saipan International School student Cerinn Hwang on her early acceptance to the University of Pennsylvania, Class of 2021, where she will study International Relations and Actuary Science.

The University of Pennsylvania is a private, Ivy League university founded in the 1740s by Benjamin Franklin in order to train students as future leaders in business, government and public service. This idea was revolutionary at a time when other institutions of higher learning were dedicated to educating men for the ministry and this spirit of innovation is alive and well at UPenn today.

According to U.S. News and World Report, 2016: “Inspired by the intellectual audacity and educational ideals of our founder, Benjamin Franklin, the University of Pennsylvania offers a compelling mixture of world-class liberal arts coursework and pre-professional education.”

SIS is proud of Hwang’s accomplishments and wishes her the best of luck in her transition from an SIS Gecko to a UPenn Quaker, said Ron Snyder, Saipan International School headmaster.
