The guests of Resorts World Manila’s familiarization tour were given a taste of Taiwan’s beauty during the final port stop aboard the SuperStar Virgo.

As part of Resorts World Manila’s familiarization tour from March 5 to 10, media outlets from Guam, Saipan, and tourism specialists from Hawaii were given an all-expense paid cruise on board Star Cruises’ SuperStar Virgo that made Manila its home port back in 2017 for its summer getaway cruise.

SSV’s final port stop on its summer getaway cruise was the beautiful city of Keelung in Taiwan.

Upon docking on Taiwan’s port, the disembarkation process was significantly smoother compared to the disembarkation process in Japan.

On Taiwan, cruisers and fam tour participants were immediately greeted by their tour guides and rushed to their respective buses due to Taiwan’s freezing weather.

The first stop on the Taiwan tour was one of Keelung’s most popular restaurants called Queens.

Immediately after steeping into Queens, your skin was greeted with a comfortable warmth and your nostrils were greeted with the strong smell of broth and spices.

In Queens, the media outlets from Guam and Saipan were immediately drawn to the snails marinated in oyster sauce and fried shrimp chips. Although it was extremely horrifying to think of, media outlets dared to eat the snails and found them extremely satisfying.

After lunch, the group was divided into two. Half went on ahead to start their Taiwan shopping experience, while the other half visited Keelung’s famous Geo Park.

At the park, after a 10-minute trek up the park, the group was treated to a magnificent sight of Keelung’s breath-taking ocean and the sight of Taiwan’s mesmerizing mountains.

The park also showcased rocks that were transformed naturally into images like a leopard and a princess.

After the tour of the park, the group was immediately transported to Keelung’s biggest tourist attraction, the night market. After about an hour commute, the group finally arrived at the night market.

Although the night air was freezing, the group jumped out of the bus almost immediately after it was parked to make the most of what time they had left before the SSV sets sail for high seas once again.

At the night market, the group was greeted with thousands of little vendors, some of which were selling merchandise, but most were snacks and meals that were cooked right in front of you.

The group was given three hours to explore what the night market had to offer. The market offered freshly picked vegetables that could be thrown into soup or noodles, freshly picked fruits, and fish that was freshly caught.

The media outlets from Guam, Saipan, and the tourism specialists from Hawaii had a taste of almost everything the market had to offer from soups, to noodles, to fried foods, to fresh fruits, and more before again boarding the SSV and heading back to Manila.
