Summer Pre-law Program in radio program

On March 9, 2014, NMI Judiciary Summer Pre-law Program coordinator and law clerk Nicole M.
Torres, along with Lillian A. Tenorio and Cinta M. Kaipat, 1994 program alumnae, will be featured in the radio program “Your Humanities Half-Hour” to discuss the Summer Pre-law Program’s history, benefits, and application requirements. Tenorio and Kaipat will describe their personal experiences in the 1994 program and legal careers that followed. Tune in to Power 99 at 2pm to hear more.
The program will be held at the Guma’ Hustisia in Susupe from June 23, 2014, to July 11, 2014. The program will introduce participants to legal study; will prepare participants for the law school admissions process; and will connect participants to attorney-mentors within the CNMI legal community.
Emeritus professor Robert J. Desiderio of the University of New Mexico School of Law and professor Rose Cuison Villazor of the University of California at Davis School of Law will teach courses in contracts and property. Participants will have the opportunity to present oral arguments before a panel of judges, and attend workshops on the law school admissions process and Law School Admission Test.
The program is open to individuals who are pursuing or have obtained undergraduate or graduate degrees. Those interested are encouraged to apply by the priority deadline, April 30, 2014, as space is limited.
