Summer internships for high school juniors, seniors

The Northern Marianas College’s Cooperative Research Extension and Education Service is encouraging incoming high school juniors and seniors for school year 2012-2013 to apply for its four-week summer internship program.

The internship will begin on July 23, 2012 and end on Aug. 17, 2012. As part of the internship program, students will explore and learn about the fields of agriculture and family consumer sciences. NMC-CREES has different divisions including entomology, plant pathology, nutrition, food quality and safety, 4H and outreach.

Internship positions vary throughout the three NMC-CREES offices and facilities on Saipan, Tinian, and Rota. Note that applicants must also be a U.S. citizen and have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale.

The deadline to apply for the internship is no later than 4:30pm on Thursday, July 12, 2012. Application forms are available for download at http://crees.org, or may be picked up at the NMC-CREES offices in Building F at the NMC Saipan campus, and at the administrative offices of the NMC Rota and Tinian Instructional Sites.
