The Education and Workforce Development Committee of the Saipan Chamber of Commerce presents the “2019 Student Career Exploration Day” on Wednesday, Dec. 4, 2019.
High school juniors and seniors have been invited to register for this event. The Chamber is also seeking interested companies who would like to participate in this program.
Registered students will choose a field of business they are hoping to learn more about and will be paired with a participating Chamber business. This is a unique opportunity that will give students a hands-on experience in the workplace with a chance to “shadow” a private-sector business leader for a half day. The Chamber hopes that this experience will help students decide which field of work or study they would like to pursue in the future. Students will be recognized at the Saipan World Resort’s Royal Taga Hall during the Saipan Chamber’s general membership meeting on Dec. 4, from 11:30am to 12:45pm. The meeting will be followed by a student workshop hosted by the EdWork committee focusing on financial literacy, interviewing skills, and life balancing tips from experienced professionals.
Interested students will need the following: student application, high school permission form, and student/parental consent form. Hard copies can be picked up from the Chamber office on the 3rd floor of the Marianas Business Plaza, Suite 315 or downloaded from the Chamber website: www.saipanchamber.com. Forms may be submitted via email or to Chamber office. For more information, call (670) 234-7150 or email administrator@saipanchamber.com. (PR)
