Students from S. Korea clean up San Antonio

Visiting students from South Korea participated in a cleanup effort last weekend.
Twenty-three students who are part of the month-long Costa World Tour English Camp cleaned parts of San Antonio Village.
According to Yuki Kishimoto, student cultural exchange program coordinator of the Saipan Mayor’s Office, the students cleaned the roadside area from Hopwood Jr. High School to Pakpak Beach.
The 2015 Liberation Queen Zolenska Yaroitemal also joined the students during the cleanup.
The 23 students are third to ninth graders and came from various schools in South Korea.
They will be on island until Jan. 28.
As part of the program, the students are attending classes at Eucon International School.
Aside from learning English and participating in the beautification of the islands, the students are also visiting various government agencies as well as recreation spots such as the Managaha Island.
“We are very fortunate to have the students donate their time on occasions like this and seeing the students from off-island help beautify the island was very moving. We would like to express our heartfelt appreciation for their hard work and hope they continue to visit our island with their friends and family,” Kishimoto said.
Last year, 18 students participated in the same program, according to Costa World Tour president Yeon Tae Choi.
