Jireh Yobeh completed a hat-trick to lift Paire FC to a 8-1 demolition of Matansa FC in the boys U18 division of the 2012 NMIFA Youth Spring League last Saturday at the Oleai Sports Complex Field.
Last weekend’s game was Paire’s last and Yobech and company completed the three-round league in second place behind MP United with a 7-0-5 win-draw-loss record. Also scoring in Paire’s season-finale were Don Cabrera, Dale Ballesteros, Thomas Lee, and Juanito Tiamzon.
Paire scored four goals apiece in the first and second half with its first three made in a span of six minutes. Yobeh gained his first goal in the 12th minute and three minutes later Cabrera also scored. Then in the 18th minute, Yobech found the back of the net anew, while Cabrera duplicated the former’s feat with his second goal in the 26th minute.
Matansa also scored in the first half, but got only one from Angelo Guevarra, with only six minutes left before the break.
At the resumption of the match, Ballesteros made it a 5-1 Paire lead with his goal in the 52nd, while Yobech completed the hat-trick at the 64th minute mark. Paire’s last two goals were recorded in a span of three minutes with Tiamzon and Lee lighting up the scoreboard in the 66th and 69th minute.
MP United 3, Tan Holdings 3
In the other U18 game, MP United saved a draw against Tan Holdings.
MP United, which had already secured the division title, two weeks ago, ended the season with a 10-1-1 slate, while Tan Holdings fell to a 4-1-5 card, with two games left (both against Matansa).
Chris Park gave MP United twin goals, while Seoung Joon Lee nailed the other one. Tanapon Unsa also had two goals, while Thanyakorn Konkoed drilled the third goal for Tan Holdings.
All three goals of MP United were posted in the first half, while Tan Holdings had only one, courtesy of Unsa in the 39th minute. Before Unsa scored, MP United was enjoying a 3-0 lead after Park broke the ice early at the fifth minute mark of the first half, got his second goal only four minutes later, and Lee added one more in the 23rd minute.
However, MP United’s offense was stalled in the second half, allowing a Tan Holdings comeback. Tanapon cut the lead to one with his goal in the 52nd minute, while Konkoed connected on the equalizer just two minutes later.
Meanwhile, the first of the last two games between Matansa (0-0-10) and Tan Holdings will be played this Saturday at the Oleai pitch at 1pm, while the final match will be announced later.
