A local author, Katrina Manning, will be the honorary storyteller at the Joeten Kiyu Public Library for their Storytime event on Dec. 10.

According to acting library director Erlinda Naputi, attendees will enjoy a selection of family-friendly stories written and read by Manning.

“Don’t miss this opportunity to meet a local author and introduce readers to the magic of a shared story,” Naputi said.

The event will take place at the JKPL Main Lobby at 4:30pm.

“This is a free drop-in event and all ages are welcome,” Naputi said.

Manning, a technical writer by trade, is the editor-in-chief for an online tech blog. She now has two books out and is working on a third.

Manning’s first book, Marmalade’s Exciting Tail, is set in Menomonee Falls, Wisconsin. It is a modern story of Claire Young, a Web developer who recently broke up with her fiancé. Planning for a fresh start, she starts packing to move to another city for an intriguing job offer when her cat escapes and runs away. Claire cannot imagine losing her furry best friend, so she does the first thing that comes to mind—she asks her ex-fiancé, Kirk, to assist her in the heart-wrenching search.

Aside from books, Manning has written thousands of online technical and business articles under her name and as a ghostwriter. She is also a ghostwriter for a well-known global software company. Her love of animals inspired her to write her first fiction novella.
