A houseworker was surprised after learning that her 2010 stimulus check in the amount of $339.78 was already cashed without her knowledge since last November.

Pacencia T. Bendicio, 44, said Thursday that she recently filed a theft and forgery complaint with the Department of Public Safety.

Bendicio said she filed the complaint after the Department of Finance showed her a copy of her check this month that indicated that someone had already cashed it.

The houseworker noticed that the signature in the check was far different from her signature. She also found out that the P.O. Box belonged to another person.

Bendicio had been following up her check monthly last year after she was concerned that all her friends had already received their checks.

Last September, the houseworker learned from Finance that the check was already mailed to her since July 2011.

Bendicio urged authorities to investigate the matter as there could be possibly more stimulus checks being forged and cashed.
