Still no verdict after fourth day

The juror who reportedly figured in a car accident showed up yesterday in federal court for the fourth day of jury deliberations in businesswoman Jung Ja Kim’s racketeering lawsuit against Ramon K. Quichocho, his wife Frances, his law firm, and their Karissa LLC company.
The nine jurors, including an alternate, will resume their deliberations today, Thursday, as they failed yet again to reach a verdict yesterday.

There were no jury deliberations on Tuesday as U.S. District Court for the NMI Magistrate Judge Heather L. Kennedy dismissed the jury after one juror figured in a car accident and failed to show up. Kennedy, however, ordered the jurors to return to court yesterday to continue their deliberations.

At 8:05am yesterday, Kennedy informed the parties in the case that the juror who was absent on Tuesday would be appearing but running late.

When the juror appeared, Kennedy reconvened the hearing at 8:40am. She asked the juror if he was ready to continue with deliberations and he affirmed.

The magistrate judge then ordered the jurors to continue their deliberations.

The trial began on Feb. 3.
