Stewart, Berger rule ‘Silver Streak’
Jack Stewart and veteran Mamiko Berger ruled the 22nd Annual Tom Picarro Memorial Fun Run held early Saturday morning with the start and finish line in front of T Galleria.
Stewart and Berger bested 71 other runners that joined the 22nd edition of the annual “Silver Streak” fun run, held in honor of former president Tom Picarro of the then known DFS Galleria.
Stewart completed the 7-kilometer run at a blistering pace of 25:44, just five seconds short of Jess James’ time last year (25:39) while Berger clocked in at 26:21 or 2:28 faster than Lorie Hutchison’s 28:49 time recorded also in 2014.
Youngster Sam Ryu led the division winners when he topped the boys U12, while middle and long distance runner Seiya Eda ruled the 13-19 age group.
Owen Ji and Tiffany Lin clinched the male and female 20-30 divisions, while Ed Ewing and Jennifer Cui were the best runners in the 31-40 age group.
Taro Goto and Sakiko Eda (male and female 41-50), Cesar Danao and Beth Kohnen (male and female 51-60), and Chang Whan Jang and Suzy Kindel (61-and-up) were the other 7K age division winners.
Gary Bandoja and Claire S. Devey clinched the male and female 3K division crowns with times of 13:46 and 14:02, respectively.
Carlo Diaz and Haani Seman were the fastest boys and girls U12 runners, while Robbie Schorr and Angel Marie Tan duplicated their feat in the 13-19 age category.
Weilly Brena and Olivia Chan won the male and female 20-30 divisions, while Aldrin Sta. Ana and Ana Marie Manansala were the best male and female runners in the 31-40 age groups.
Ernie Moises and Grace Cruz (male and female 41-50), Rufo Caspillo and Tess Masga (male and female 51-60), and Jeff Schorr (Over- 61) were the other winners.
All division winners received T Galleria gift items like watches, perfumes, and bags. Raffle prizes were also given away.
