Stellar invites candidates for Miss Marianas pageant

Young women across the CNMI now have the opportunity to help their community by becoming a positive role model and ambassador to the world with the 2015 Miss Marianas Pageant this May.

After the success of 2014 Miss Marianas Teen, Stellar Marianas, the islands’ nonprofit pageant and talent group, has begun recruiting 18-25 year-old qualified contestants for the islands’ premier pageant.

Stellar Marianas is inviting interested applicants to Hard Rock Café today at 5:30pm to meet the team, turn in applications, and learn about the opportunities.

“We highly encourage our young women to join these worthwhile and positive community and global events as the experience is not only incredibly fun, but will also boost confidence and offer lifelong skills,” said Stellar Marianas president Laila Boyer.

“We began with Miss Marianas Teen 2014 last July and now Miss Marianas 2015 in May. We are closing the application process this week and encourage our young women to take this opportunity while it is here,” she said.

Rehearsals and preparation will begin next week and the theme is “Vintage Hollywood.”

“The glamour and elegance of that era will provide a show experience like no other. We are super excited!” said Boyer.

2015 Miss Marianas contestant application forms are available at Marianas Variety office and Pena House in Chalan Kanoa or send email requests to stellarqueens@gmail.com.

The age range for contestants is 18 to 25 year olds, must be U.S. citizen, single, not married, no children, and of good moral and ethical character.

Titleholders have the opportunity to represent the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands at two international pageants.

Contestants will receive a Stellar Marianas beauty bag, hair and make up training sessions, nutrition and fitness training, model portfolio, media interview and public speaking training sessions, opening number outfit and swim wear from Stellar Marianas.

Miss Marianas 2015 could win a crown, trophy, sash and flowers, $1,500 cash, all expense paid travel opportunity to compete at two international pageants, all expense paid travel opportunities, a brand new smart phone, one-year supply of beauty products, one-year gym membership and personal trainer, one-year use of a personal stylist and manicurist, a professional model portfolio, a four-piece luggage set from Stellar Marianas, and an opportunity to create and implement a community project under your name assisted by Stellar Marianas.
