Star Poker robbery suspect falls
Police identified and subsequently arrested the wig-wearing suspect who robbed the Star Poker arcade along Beach Road near Quartermaster Road on Tuesday night.
Department of Public Safety police spokesman Travis Hurst said police detectives interviewed and arrested 28-year-old Eric Narruhn yesterday at 12:22pm.
Hurst said part of the stolen $541 cash was recovered.
“At this time it is not known if all of the money taken from Star Poker has been recovered,” Hurst said.
He said DPS Commonwealth Bureau of Investigation detectives were able to identify the suspect.
DPS Central Dispatch received a call Tuesday at 6:11pm about an armed robbery at Star Poker.
According to witnesses’ accounts, the suspect entered the poker arcade, forced his way into the cashier’s room brandishing a sharp object and demanded money.
The robber then fled the scene.
The suspect was described as about 5’9” tall, light complexioned, wearing a black big, and had a blue long-sleeved shirt and blue jeans.
Saipan Tribune learned that Narruhn’s girlfriend is a cashier at the poker establishment.
In July 2013, police arrested Narruhn for allegedly choking his wife during an argument over her car that was driven by his girlfriend.
