The excitement is brewing up as El Drako Kennels goes into full gear for the much anticipated event in Saipan this year-the Spikes & Chains V1 Fest 2012: Saipan Bully and All Breeds of Dog Show.

Everyone is invited to bite into the action when Spikes & Chains takes off on July 8, 2012, at the Filcom Pavillion grounds in Susupe. The American Bully and Dog Show will feature all kinds of breeds with different categories for Papered American Bully, Non-Papered American Bully, and APBT (American PitBull Terrier) and all kinds of breeds in the Fun Show. Dogs will be categorized under pocket, standard, and XL.

Points will be given to every winner, until they earn enough number of points to be declared champion or grand champion, which they will earn through a series of show or challenges they will participate in.

The idea behind opening the show to all dog breeds and not just to American Bullies is to give all proud dog owners and lovers a chance to show off their pets.

Showing off dogs may seem like nothing more than a beauty pageant. However, a dog show is a process of judging each dog to determine which one conforms most closely to written standards. These standards include specification of structure, temperament and movement.

Just a few reminders to interested participants: Dog owners will be responsible for their pets and should maintain cleanliness in their designated areas or their entry will be disqualified. Face-to-face encounters among dogs is discouraged to avoid possible dog brawls. Available booths for kennel owners is on a first-come, first-served basis. Certificates for all entries will be given at the end of the program.

Tips on proper dog handling will be provided, especially to beginners and those who are still planning to acquire dogs.

This unique festival promises to be a huge hit as it guarantees a family-fun atmosphere and creative presentations by participants. There will be a live band , foods and drinks for sale, big bikes on display, and a raffle draw with a grand prize of an American Bully Puppy. Raffle tickets cost only $5 each.
