Southern United still perfect in Dove league

Southern United Football Club extended its winning streak in the Dove Women’s Summer League 2021 to four after nosing out Shirley’s Football Club-A, 2-1, last Wednesday night at the NMI Soccer Training Center in Koblerville.
Nathanette Blas and Britanny Wally fired the two goals for Southern United with the former scoring in the 16th minute and the latter eight minutes later. Shirley’s-1 countered with only one goal in the first half, courtesy of Alexa Vergara’s shot in the 29th minute and Southern United hung on to the shaky lead, as neither team found the back of the net in the second half.
With the close win, Southern United remains unbeaten in four games to keep the lead in the Premier Division.
In the other match in the same category, Kanoa dominated Shirley’s FC-B, 6-0, to move up to second place in the team standings with its 2-0-2 win-draw-loss record.

Ivan Gozum powered Kanoa to the easy victory after drilling four goals, while Kelsey McClellan contributed two.
INTERMEDIATE DIVISION
MP United 6, Southern United 2
MP United notched win No. 3 after outclassing Southern United last Sunday.
Raina Avelino caught fire early for MP United, as she delivered three straight goals. Laarni Zapanta chipped in a pair, while Julia Ishikawa added one. Southern United drew its twin goals from Raena Ramarui and Marie Castro
Matansa 3, Kanoa 0
In the other game in the division last weekend, Matansa shut down Kanoa.
Bunruang Brasuell nailed two goals for Matansa, while Tawny Barcinas made one for the team’s second victory in four matches.
NOVICE DIVISION
Matansa 3, Paire-2 0
Matansa was also triumphant in the Novice Division’s curtain-raiser last Sunday after blanking Paire-2.
Sandy Leon Guerrero, Elaine Sablan, and Raena Camacho scored for Matansa.
Paire-1 2, Kanoa 1
Paire-1 nipped Kanoa in the second match in the division.
Robyn Spaeth and Pam Walsh delivered the pair of goals for Paire-1. Spaeth drew first blood for Paire-1 with her goal in the 16th minute, while Walsh hit her target in the 31st. Kanoa’s lone goal came from Jean Bernardo in the 37th minute.
