The Sonics joined GMI Market, Judith’s Hot Boys, and Ferrera Builders in the Final Four. The semifinal matches were played last night with the Sonics taking on GMI Market and Judith’s Hot Boys and Ferrera colliding in the other pairing and results of neither match were unavailable at press time.

KB Market kissed its semis bid goodbye as it played catch up right from the get-go and never managed to overhaul the Sonics’s lead.

The Sonics opened the battle for the last semis ticket with an 8-0 run before KB Market moved within 5 after the first period, 11-6. However, the Sonics began pulling away in the second half behind its balance offense to oust KB Market.

Ryan Esmundo paced the Sonics with his 12 points, while six of his teammates added at least 6 points each in their 17-point victory. Andrew Palino was the lone bright spot in the KB Market side, recording a game-high 26 markers.

In overtime, MJD leaned on Jack Tarragoza to foil Maplas’ upset bid as the benchwarmer knocked in 6 of his 10 markers in the extension. Cecilio Bisana added 4 points, while Pelisamen and Gamboa chipped in 2 each. Only J.P. Villanueva scored for Maplas in the extra five minutes of play.
