D&Q hosted a SPAM cook-off last Saturday in collaboration with Joeten Susupe, which is celebrating its 65th anniversary this year.
Andrew Jon Songsong won first place in the competition with his SPAM Taco creation, besting nine other contestants. He brought home $650 cash, lunch for two at Isla Café, Kanoa Resort, and a case of assorted SPAM.
In second place was Jim Rayphand, with his SPAMANA Muffin, while third place went to Jean Ballesteros with her creation, which she dubbed SPAMTONS. Rayphand won $365 cash plus a case of assorted SPAM, while Ballesteros got $165 and a case of assorted SPAM.
The competition required the contestants to come up with unique food creations using SPAM as the main ingredient.
