Diego Songao, Rota’s representative on the board of Commonwealth Development Authority, was elected chairman of the agency’s board during a recent meeting.

In his brief remarks to the board, Songao expressed gratitude to his fellow members and asked for their continued cooperation.

Songao succeeds former board chair Pete Itibus.

By acclamation, Edward Sablan also got the unanimous support of his peers to be the board’s vice chairperson while Edwin Aldan was elected to the secretary position.

All three will serve two-year terms as board officers.

CDA is an autonomous public agency established in 1985 with the mission to provide economic loan funds to private and public sectors for economic development in the Northern Marianas.

Its board of directors is composed of Songao, Glenn Quitugua, Edwin Aldan, Edward C. Sablan, Ike Perez, and Marcie M. Tomokane.
