Solo lead for Makalaro Lang
Makalaro Lang moved up to solo top spot in the 2015 Blue Haus/IT&E Inter-Color Basketball League following a 74-60 win over Kidlat last Wednesday at the Navy Hill court.

Makalaro Lang gained its third win in as many games to break its tie for the No. 1 spot with idle Pasion De Amor (2-0). Kidlat fell to a 1-2 record.
Ernie Moises led Makalaro Lang’s balance offense to ease past Kidlat. Moises scored a team-high 17 points to pace his squad, while Ivan Devero chipped in 16, and Errol Peredo and Raymond Velasco contributed 14 apiece.
Three players had double figures for Kidlat with Manolo Manalo drilling a game-high 23 points. Justin Zapanta and White Capalad added 13 and 10, respectively, but they could not get baskets in streaks to keep up with Makalaro’s even scoring.
Makalaro Lang broke away in the second half after holding a 35-32 halftime edge. Devero, who was held to one field goal in the first half, found his rhythm in the second, making 12, including 8 straight points in the final half of the last frame. Moises, on the other hand, kept going in the second half, registering 9 more points, while Velasco fired 6 of Makalaro Lang’s first 8 points in the last 20 minutes of play to give their team a sizeable lead. Rey Culala also got his game going, scoring 6 of his 8 markers in the second half, while Peredo knocked in the two other baskets for Makalaro Lang.
Meanwhile, Pasion De Amor hopes to join Makalaro Lang anew at the top spot of the team standings when it takes on Hard Kulangot (1-1) in the first game tomorrow. In the second match, Oh My J (1-1) aims for back-to-back wins when it collides against Purple Rain (1-1).
Other games this weekend are Red Rice versus Eh Di Wow this Friday and Wag Kang Pabebe against Eh Di Wow and Red Rice over Hard Kulangot this Sunday.
