Sobriety, child seat, seatbelt checkpoints on Rota
The Department of Public Safety will be conducting Occupant Protection Child Restraint/Sobriety checkpoints on Rota on Aug. 2, 3, and 4, 2012.
On Aug. 2, the first sobriety checkpoint will be held along San Francisco Highway by Tatacho Area, from 7pm to 8:15pm. The second will be along San Francisco Highway by Chaliat Area, from 9:30pm to 10:45pm. The third will be along San Francisco Highway by Lotgan Area, from 12am to 1:15am.
On Aug. 3, the first sobriety checkpoint will be held along San Francisco Highway by Pinatang Park, from 6:30pm to 7:45pm. The second will be along San Francisco Highway by Guata Area, from 9pm to 10:15pm. The third will be along San Francisco Highway by Sinapalo 3 Park, from 11:30pm to 12:45am.
On Aug. 4, the first OP/CR checkpoint will be held along Sinapalo 1 by San Isidro Church, from 10am to 11:15am. The second will be along San Francisco Highway by Uyulan Area, from 1pm to 2:15pm. The third will be along District 2 by Midtown Mart, from 3:30pm to 4:45pm.
Each checkpoint will last at least 75 minutes (1 hour 15 minutes) at each location.
In addition, police officers will be conducting highway criminal interdictions, saturation patrol, aggressive driver interdictions, and laser activities.
Checkpoints are subject to be terminated if it begins to rain.
This activity is part of the department’s efforts to ensure that all vehicle occupants are protected.
