Based on information received from the National Weather Service in Tiyan, Guam, and compiled at the CNMI Homeland Security and Emergency Management, large swells will maintain hazardous surf and a high risk of rip currents on north and east facing reefs of the Marianas.

A small craft advisory is in effect until 3pm today, Tuesday.

Winds have already subsided to around 20 knots and will subside further to around 15 knots by this afternoon.

Seas of 9 to 11 feet will subside to between 8 and 9 feet also by this afternoon.

The public is being advised to avoid venturing near exposed reefs and beaches, especially those along north and east facing reefs, as rip currents will be life threatening. (HSEM)
