Gov. Ralph DLG Torres has issued a small craft advisory that will remain in effect until 6am today, July 5. He is advising the general public and inexperience mariners—especially those operating smaller vessels—to avoid navigating in these conditions and take extra precautionary measures on entering and leaving harbor and inlets.

Based on the information received from the National Weather Service, Tiyan Guam and compiled at the CNMI Emergency Operations Center, fresh to strong winds are expected through Tuesday and combined seas of 7 to 11 feet yesterday will fall to between 6 and 8 feet last night. Meanwhile, isolated thunderstorms are expected the next few days, with scattered showers today and tonight as Nepartak passes by.

Tropical storm Nepartak was expected to move northwest and pass Southwest of Guam yesterday afternoon.

East winds of 20 to 25 kt are expected through last night. Combined seas of 7 and 11 feet today will decrease to 5 to 8 feet last night. These conditions will be hazardous for operators of small craft.
