SIS student shows interest in restoring war tanks

Share

A student is seeking help from the Saipan municipal government in his attempt to restore Japanese tanks.

Saipan International School sophomore R.J. Pierce has asked Saipan Mayor David M. Apatang to support him in his mission, not so much financially or even with manpower but through word of mouth.

According to Pierce, as a young person with big plans, community members tend to doubt his capabilities. With Apatang’s support, Pierce said this could potentially encourage others to support his project.

Pierce is determined to restore the Japanese tank displayed along Beach Road and the tank gun near the Francisco C. Ada-Saipan International Airport.
