Ron Snyder, the headmaster of Saipan International School, was sworn in as the CNMI’s newest Rotarian last Tuesday. Newly appointed officers in the Rotary Club of Saipan’s sister program, Interact Club, from Kagman High School as well as SIS were able to attend.
The induction ceremony was short and sweet, and took place during the club’s weekly meeting at the Hyatt Regency Saipan.
The CNMI’s newest Rotarian was welcomed warmly, as he took his pledge and delivered a simple speech.
Snyder is also the advisor for the SIS chapter of Rotary Interact, an organization dedicated to “Service Above Self.”
SIS has recently become a part of the Rotary Interact community, and has already begun raising funds for and volunteering at the local animal shelter, Saipan Cares for Animals by fundraising, volunteering and collecting donations. SIS is the association’s only private school, and participants are looking forward to building goodwill and better friendships with the rest of Interact and all of Rotary International.
Snyder was sworn in after a presentation was given to the meetings attendees. The presentation was given by Kanae Quinn, who discussed the importance of the Make-a-Wish Foundation, and the work that the organization does in the CNMI. The cooperation of these two associations, both working to make the world a better place is sure to be a positive influence on our islands. With the help of their newest member, the CNMI’s Rotary club will continue to assist communities across the globe. (PR)
