Both golfers finished with a net score of 76 but Siruelo clinched a spot in FilTaga’s yearend tournament since Lopez had already secured one following his victory last March.

FilTaga looked into the back nine scorecards of both golfers then deducted half of their handicaps to break the tie.

Siruelo, based on the rule, scored 50 at the back and with a 20 handicap (10) gave him a net score of 40. Lopez finished with a 35 (48 at the back nine, 26 handicap) after the tiebreak.

Rene Batallones (77), William Retardo (79), Raffy Piamonte (82), Larry Pascual, Paul Bea, and Freddie Cataluña (83), Eric Mandel (86), Mike Cruz and Ruben Avendaño (87), and John Matsumoto (88) completed the list of participants.

Siruelo was the September Ace but Lopez went home with the cash prize. He now joins the list of 12 FilTaga monthly winners.

Vic Roman and Randy Tudela (A and B, January), Jhun Ortiz and Raffy Piamonte (A and B, February), Lopez (March), Bea (April), Pascual and Dandito Breboneria (A and B, May), Retardo (June), Cataluña and Avendaño (A and B, July), and Greg Castro (August) have also earned berths to the FilTaga yearend tournament, to be held either in late December or early January 2016.

Cataluña also won the par-3 nearest to the pin at holes No. 3 and 7, while Mandel and Pascual equaled the feat at No. 13 and 17, respectively.

The FilTaga October Ace of the Month is set on Oct. 18 with the venue to be announced at a later date. Tee time is 12:30pm.
