Pacific Games-bound Colin Sinclair reached the semifinal round of the singles event of the $25,000+H Most Open 2019 held last week in the Czech Republic.

Sinclair, the only pro player on the CNMI Men’s National Team that will compete in the 2019 Pacific Games in Apia, Samoa, won his first three matches in the clay court tournament to make it to the Final Four. He first defeated the Czech Republic’s Jiri Lehecka, 6-3, 6-2, and then labored through a 6-2, 5-7, 6-3 triumph over Germany’s Lucas Gerch to move into the quarterfinal round. The Commonwealth bet then notched win No. 3 against the host’s Ondrej Krstev, 6-2, 6-3, to move one step away from playing in the finals.

In the semis, Sinclair faced his third Czech Republic opponent and stretched the match to three sets before Jan Satral escaped with a 6-3, 2-6, 3-6 victory.

With his semis stint in the $25,000+H, Sinclair would gain 67 ITF World ranking points and is likely to move up the ladder. He sits at No. 65 (as of May 27) and reached his highest ranking (No. 56) early this year after winning the M15 Claremont in California.

After the tournament in the Czech Republic, he went to Germany where he will play in the another clay court event—the $25,000 Karlsruhe Open. Sinclair is expected to join a couple more competitions in Europe before joining the rest of the CNMI National Tennis Team in Samoa.
