The CNMI Statewide Independent Living Council, led by chair Consolacion “Connie” Atalig, will conduct outreach on Tinian at the Kammer Beach Pavilion on July 19-20, from 10am to 2pm.

The goal of this outreach, consistent with the 2014-2016 State Plan for Independent Living, is to increase the community’s level of awareness of the history and philosophy of independent living as well as to promote individual and systems advocacy.

Individuals from Tinian who may be interested in serving as a member on the SILC when a vacancy becomes available may take this opportunity to learn from Atalig, Estella Cabaobas, Thomas Thornburgh, and Belta Pangelinan (SILC Tinian representative) about the mission of SILC, duties/responsibilities of members, ideal characteristics of potential members, etc.

If you have any questions regarding the SILC’s Tinian outreach activity, contact Atalig at 286-5480 or Pangelinan at 433-7325.
